Squire Patton Boggs adds Aguilar Shea to LPC
Squire Patton Boggs has appointed José Aguilar Shea, equity partner in the firm’s Madrid office, to its Legal Personnel Committee (LPC), the global body that advises the firm’s Board on strategic matters related to lawyer hiring, promotion and professional development. The appointment marks the first time the Madrid office is represented on this committee, which is made up of 23 partners from Squire Patton Boggs offices around the world.
The LPC’s main responsibilities include advising on hiring policies and criteria for lawyers, overseeing internal partner-promotion processes, and coordinating professional development mechanisms across the firm. The committee plays a role in the firm’s organic growth by helping define the profiles, skills and criteria that guide both the recruitment of new professionals and the progression of lawyers within the organization.
Membership in the LPC is reserved for equity partners with an established track record within Squire Patton Boggs and a deep understanding of its culture, strategy and professional development model. Members are expected to bring a global perspective to the Board while remaining attuned to the realities of the different offices and markets in which the firm operates.
The profile
Aguilar Shea is a partner in the Tax Strategy & Benefits practice of Squire Patton Boggs in Madrid. He has experience advising national and international companies and individuals on tax matters, particularly in structuring complex corporate and real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate reorganization processes. He also advises high-net-worth clients and family offices, and takes part in cross-border transactions with Latin America as a member of the firm’s Latam Desk and Brazil Desk.
With this appointment, the Madrid office strengthens its participation in Squire Patton Boggs’ global structure and its contribution to shaping policies related to one of the firm’s strategic priorities: attracting, promoting and developing its professionals.
