Rock & Law Festival raises more than €51,000 to transform the lives of children with disabilities
The last edition of the Rock & Law Festival has raised more than 51,000 euros that will go to the “Próximos a la infancia” project promoted by the Fundacion Prójimo Próximo. Representatives of the foundations promoting the festival – Fundación Garrigues, Fundación Cuatrecasas, Fundación Fernando Pombo and Fundación Profesor Uría – officially handed over the €51,918 raised in this edition, reaffirming the commitment of the legal sector to social causes.
The festival, held on October 11 at the Caja Mágica in Madrid, brought together more than 1,500 people on a night in which the legal profession put aside competition to take the stage for a cause of solidarity. The participating bands, formed by members of law firms such as A&O Sherman, Baker McKenzie, CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, Cuatrecasas, Deloitte Abogados, DLA Piper, EY Abogados, Freshfields, Garrigues, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, Lesayra, Linklaters, Uría Menéndez and Watson Farley Williams, offered an unforgettable show. The music, with a repertoire ranging from rock classics to contemporary songs, united the legal profession in a unique evening of talent, fun and solidarity presented by journalist Gloria Serra.
All proceeds will go to the “Proximos a la Infancia” project of Fundación Prójimo Próximo, which works to improve the quality of life and social inclusion of children and young people with disabilities and without economic resources. The funds will finance medical treatments, specialized therapies and essential technical aids for the beneficiary families.
“Once again, Rock & Law demonstrates that when we join forces for a cause of solidarity, the results can be extraordinary. These funds will make a real difference in the lives of many children and their families,” explained a Festival spokesperson.
