GA_P appoints five new counsels
Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has appointed Mercedes Corbal, Bárbara Saínz de Vicuña, Rocío Arias, José Francisco Canalejas and Álvaro Sainz as industrial and intellectual property, tax and financial counsels respectively.
Mercedes Corbal
Mercedes has extensive experience in industrial property, unfair competition and advertising litigation before commercial courts and the European Union. She joined the firm in 2007. In addition, as an Industrial Property Agent, she is responsible for proceedings before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and the Intellectual Property Office of the European Union.
Bárbara Saínz de Vicuña
Bárbara joined GA_P in 2007 and specializes in digital law and new technologies, e-commerce, data protection, audiovisual law and consumer law. She also has extensive experience in the retail sector.
José Francisco Canalejas
José Francisco Canalejas has a Doctorate in Law from the University of Castilla la Mancha. He joined the firm in 2009 and specializes in the derivatives market, financial regulation, capital markets and corporate and real estate financing.
Álvaro Sainz
Álvaro Sainz, who joined the firm in 2010, studied an LL.M. at New York University and is qualified to practice in Spain and New York; he specializes in restructurings, direct financing, international (cross border) financings and debt analysis and distressed debt acquisitions/acquisitions.
Rocio Arias
Rocío Arias, lawyer and economist, joined the firm in 2014, she is specialized in tax litigation and is part of the team recently formed in the Tax Area to advise on tax proceedings both in the administrative phase (management and inspection) and in the jurisdictional phase. She also provides advice on direct taxation of national and international groups.
The new counsels will reinforce their practice areas, consolidating their growth.
