CMS Portugal advises Sonepar on two companies acquisition

CMS Portugal advised Sonepar, an independent French family-owned group specializing in B2B distribution of electrical equipment, services, and omnichannel solutions, on the acquisition of two companies: Elpor and Mtaron. With these operations, Sonepar strengthens its local presence and expands its offerings to all professionals, particularly in the Lisbon region, states the law firm.

Founded in 1978, Elpor offers comprehensive solutions in energy distribution and management, lighting, renewables, and specialized electrical equipment for the installation and energy sectors. Founded in 1998, Mtaron provides a complete and diverse range of electrical products for installers, a sector where it holds a strong presence.

To assist Sonepar, CMS Portugal assembled a team led by corporate M&A partner Margarida Vila Franca, with the support of associates Miguel Santos Ferreira and Francisco Verdelho, as well as trainee lawyer João Fragoso Cardoso.
