Cirsa instructs Garrigues on Blackstone deal

Garrigues advised Spanish gambling company Cirsa Gaming Corporation on its acquisition by private equity firm Blackstone Group.

Blackstone instructed Simpson Thacher & Bartlett on the deal, according to Mergermarket.

It is believed the transaction was valued at around €2 billion.

Cirsa’s annual turnover is approximately €1.8 billion. It employs nearly 17,000 people around the world, of which 4,000 are located in Spain. It runs around 1,500 betting shops in Spain.

Blackstone was also advised by Uría Menéndez on the deal.
