Andersen Iberia promotes nine new partners
Andersen Iberia has named nine new partners across its Spanish and Portuguese offices, comprising five equity partners and four professional partners.
The promotions span tax, restructuring, legaltech, public law, and real estate, and are accompanied by 66 additional internal promotions, 57.8% of which went to women.
The profiles
Carlos Rodríguez Sau has been appointed equity partner and head of the legaltech practice. He brings extensive experience in regulatory compliance, technology regulation, and artificial intelligence, advising IBEX 35 companies on AI implementation, data protection, cybersecurity, and responsible AI governance.
Tomás Rivero becomes equity partner in tax and director of the Seville office. He specialises in tax advisory for business groups and family-owned companies, tax planning, and complex restructuring and acquisition transactions, and has driven the adoption of AI and process automation in legal and tax work.
Javier Lacleta is appointed equity partner and co-head of the restructuring and special situations practice. His European legal background and experience in domestic and cross-border matters allows him to handle complex real estate transactions and corporate restructurings, with a focus on distress operations.
Marta Morales joins him as equity partner and co-head of restructuring and special situations. She has advised on some of the most significant insolvency situations in the Spanish market, acting for debtors, creditors, and institutions across M&A, restructuring, and distress processes.
Carlos Morales Ruiz is promoted to equity partner in public and regulatory law, specialising in urban planning and public procurement. He advises domestic and international clients in the real estate, tourism, and urban and port services sectors, and also teaches at several postgraduate and undergraduate programmes.
Rafael Leal becomes professional partner in tax, leading the business development area of the firm’s European transfer pricing service line and serving as an active member of its Latin American counterpart. He advises on strategic planning, restructuring, defence, and compliance projects for multinational groups.
Jesús Alemany is appointed professional partner in tax. He co-leads the personal client services line, focusing on comprehensive tax advisory for high-net-worth clients, covering international taxation, estate planning, and consolidated tax groups.
María Soler is promoted to professional partner in restructuring and special situations. A specialist in insolvency law, she has acted in more than 100 insolvency proceedings as counsel for debtors and creditors and as court-appointed insolvency administrator since 2014, and is a regular contributor to specialist publications on the subject.
Gonçalo Rhodes joins as professional partner in real estate and urban planning at the Lisbon office. His background combines technical expertise in urban planning with institutional experience gained at the Lisbon City Council’s urban management department and as adviser to the president of the Constitutional Court.
