Fieldfisher hires Carlos Blanco as M&A partner

Fieldfisher has appointed Carlos Blanco Morillo as partner in its Corporate M&A practice in Spain, reinforcing the firm’s transactional capabilities in the domestic and international markets.

Carlos Blanco joins the Corporate M&A team led by Rodrigo Martos, which also includes partners and associates Paloma Mato, Pablo Vinageras, Javier Fuentes, and Rafael Durán. He brings 19 years of experience advising private equity funds, portfolio companies, and industrial groups on domestic and cross-border transactions, with a focus on M&A, Private Equity, corporate reorganisations, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, management incentive plans, and complex corporate transactions. His sector expertise is concentrated in telecoms and mobility, including FTTH networks, microwave links, bitstream agreements, wholesale contracts, and sector consolidation processes.

The profile

Prior to joining Fieldfisher, Blanco was a partner in the M&A and Private Equity practice at Squire Patton Boggs in Madrid. Before that, he was a partner at Roca Junyent, where he headed the Madrid office and the corporate department, a founding partner of a boutique firm specialising in corporate advisory, and a senior associate at Uría Menéndez.

Track record

Throughout his career, Blanco has advised on a number of notable transactions, including the sale of Eysa to Tikehau, the sale of iPark to CVC-DIF,  the acquisition of Temsa by Hyperion — a KKR portfolio company —, H.I.G. Capital’s investment in Grupo Ransa, ABE Capital Partners’ takeover of Fanox, and Formentor Capital’s entry into Excom Telecom Group.
