Andersen hires Juan Carpizo as Iberian tax partner
Andersen Iberia has appointed Juan Carpizo Bergareche as tax partner and head of the firm’s Iberian Local and Environmental Taxation practice. He joins from EY Abogados, where he was a partner.
The hire, announced from Madrid, strengthens the firm’s tax department under managing partner José Vicente Morote and “expands its capacity to advise large corporate groups — including IBEX 35 companies and multinationals — on technically complex matters before local and regional authorities across the Iberian Peninsula”, says Andersen.
José Vicente Morote stated: “With his incorporation we take a qualitative leap in our growth and specialisation strategy at the Iberian level,” adding that “with his profile, we not only reinforce the Tax area, but transform our capacity to act in both countries in a coordinated manner, allowing us to anticipate solutions to the new challenges of a constantly changing environment.”

Juan Carpizo Bergareche brings over 25 years of professional experience, including more than 15 years at national and international law firms. A former Inspector of Finance and Tax (on leave of absence) and State Comptroller and Auditor, he is a recognised figure in tax litigation and advisory work before local and regional administrations. His technical expertise is particularly concentrated in the energy and real estate sectors, where he has led projects related to sustainability, decarbonisation, and the circular economy.
