Uría Menéndez promotes four new counsels

Uría Menéndez has announced the promotion of Abel Baselga Castells and Alba Pérez Canet, José Martín-Fayos and Alejandre Pedral Sampaio to counsel, in line with its commitment to the professional development of its lawyers and the promotion of internal talent.

Abel Baselga Castells (Valencia)

Abel Baselga, who joined the firm in 2014, specializes in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), finance law, energy, and corporate law. Over the years, he has advised national and international companies and investment funds on high-profile transactions. In addition to his legal practice, he is an external professor at several universities in Valencia and frequently speaks at seminars and conferences.

Alba Pérez Canet (Valencia)

Alba Pérez, also in the firm since 2014, is an expert in Labor and Social Security Law. Her practice focuses on employment-related matters arising from corporate transactions, business restructuring, executive and board-level employment issues, and related judicial proceedings. She is also an associate professor at EDEM Escuela de Empresarios and the Universitat de València, and she regularly participates as a speaker at industry events.

Valencia office

The firm has been present in Valencia since 1995, operating with over 50 professionals, including more than 35 lawyers. The Valencia office, led by Elizabeth Torrecillas since 2019, now includes five partners and five counsels, reflecting its ongoing expansion.

José Martín-Fayos (Madrid)

José Sánchez-Fayos, joined Uría Menéndez in 2014, focuses his practice on maritime and transport law, and regularly advises shipowners, port terminals, collaborative and urban mobility platforms, shipping companies, logistics companies and other operators with an international presence, including their financiers, on a wide range of commercial and financial matters.

Alejandre Pedral Sampaio (Lisboa)

Alexandre Pedral Sampaio, with Uría Menéndez since 2013, is an expert in real estate law and mergers and acquisitions in the real estate sector, areas in which he advises on transactions involving the sale and purchase, leasing and development of real estate assets.
