Squire advises on the acquisition of Shingels

Squire Patton Boggs has advised Sherwin-Williams, one of the world’s largest paint and coatings producer, on its acquisition of Shingels, a Spanish company specializing in the manufacture and commercialization of paints, coatings, and solvents of all kinds.

This transaction, which will bolster Sherwin-Williams’ position in the Spanish market, also includes the acquisition of the real estate assets where Shingels operates its business.

With over 150 years of history, Sherwin-Williams dominates the North American architectural coatings market, reporting $23.1 billion in revenue and $4.2 billion in adjusted EBITDA last year. Founded in 1866, the company has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 1964 and continues to lead innovation in the coatings sector.

The firm’s M&A team, led by partner Teresa Zueco, included Alejandra Castañeda (Senior Associate) and Ángel Manzano, while Antonio Bañón, Head of Energy and Public Law, advised on the regulatory and environmental aspects of the transaction.
