Silvia Martínez new International Arbitration Partner at Hogan Lovells

Global law firm Hogan Lovells has strengthened its International Arbitration practice with the promotion of Silvia Martínez to partner. Martínez, who has been with the firm for over 15 years, has an extensive track record representing both domestic and international clients in commercial and investment arbitration disputes. Her expertise spans sectors including construction, engineering, energy, technology, and commercial law, with proceedings before leading arbitration institutions worldwide.

The newly appointed partner has played a key role in significant cases, including advising a hotel group in a corporate arbitration for the dissolution of a joint venture, defending the Republic of Chile against a second attempt to enforce an investment award in Spain, and representing multinational construction and engineering firms in disputes involving projects across Spain, the United States, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.

Recognized as a rising talent in the legal field, Martínez has been acknowledged by Thought Leader WWL Construction (Lexology), Chambers & Partners’ Up and Coming category, and Legal 500’s Next Generation Partner category, Martínez will collaborate with Litigation partner Gonzalo Ardila (pictured left).

Fernando Calancha (pictured right), recently appointed Managing Partner of Hogan Lovells’ Madrid office, celebrated the promotion: “Silvia’s appointment reinforces our commitment to fostering career development within the firm. It is a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding trajectory and significant contributions to the growth of our Madrid office.”

Martínez’s promotion is part of a global initiative by Hogan Lovells, which has named 28 new partners and 47 new counsels worldwide this year.

This announcement underscores Hogan Lovells’ dedication to strengthening its arbitration capabilities while recognizing the exceptional talent within its ranks.
