Sérvulo secures court approval for Coimbra transport concessions

Sérvulo has advised the Intermunicipal Community of the Coimbra Region (CIM-RC) in securing approval from the Court of Auditors for three public transport concession contracts. The transition to the new operator is expected to be completed by summer.

The legal process, led by partner Mark Kirkby with associates Afonso Carvalho and Luisa Costa Viegas (all pictured from left to right), covered the preparation, launch, and execution of the public tender for the region’s road transport services.

In 2023, the Portuguese law firm also advised the Intermunicipal Community of the Aveiro Region (CIRA) in a similar public tender process for a public road transport concession. This process resulted in a contract with Busway, a subsidiary of the Israeli group Afifi, which secured the concession through its company Nativ Express and began operations in the summer of that year.
