Sérvulo promotes three to partner

Sérvulo & Associados has reinforced its Public and Tax areas with three new partners

 

Sérvulo & Associados has promoted three associates to partners: Francisca Mendes da Costa (pictured left) became Public, Projects and Arbitration partner; Henrique Rodrigues da Silva (pictured centre) is now Public and Administrative Litigation partner, and Teresa Pala Schwalbach (pictured right) has been named Tax partner.

Paulo Câmara, managing partner at Sérvulo, thinks the new partners constitute “three profiles with remarkable paths that have always been distinguished by their spirit of initiative, their orientation towards results and their ability to respond to complex issues.”

Francisca Mendes da Costa has been working at Sérvulo since 2008, where she is the coordinator of the African Desk, which is part of Sérvulo Latitude, an international network of independent law firms associated with Sérvulo. She holds a Graduate qualification in Water Law from the Political Legal Sciences Institute of the Universidade de Lisboa (2014), and in Public Procurement from the Universidade de Coimbra (2008). She is certified by the European Academy of Public Law (2010), and she graduated in Law at the Universidade de Coimbra, in 2005. She was an associate at AAA Advogados in 2008, having started her professional career as a trainee lawyer at VdA between 2005 and 2008. She joined the Bar Association in 2008.

Henrique Rodrigues da Silva works at Sérvulo since 2018. He holds several Master’s degrees: in Administrative Litigation, from the Universidade Católica de Portugal, in Urban and Land Planning Law from the Universidade de Lisboa, and in Public Labour Law from the Universidade de Coimbra. He graduated in Law at the Universidade de Lisboa in 2002. He completed his traineeship between 2002 and 2004 with the lawyer Guilherme Silva, with whom he shared practice until august 2018. From 2013 to August 2018 he was an of counsel at law firm Rogério Alves & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados R.L. He has been a guest lecturer on graduate courses and conferences in matters of Public Procurement and Administrative Justice. He is an alternate member for the Commission for Access to Administrative Documents. He is an Arbitrator in Administrative matters at the Arbitration Centre of the Administrative Arbitration (CAAD), and member of the Justice Council of the Portuguese Football Federation. He joined the Bar Association in 2004.

Teresa Pala Schwalbach has been in Sérvulo since 2015, where she coordinates the Tax Consultancy area and the Scandinavian Desk, a specialised platform designed to advise companies and individual clients in the Nordic countries. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, in association with the Universidade Católica de Portugal (2009); completed a course in Tax Systems of Portuguese-Speaking African Countries, at the Institute of Economic, Financial and Tax Law (IDEFF) of the Universidade de Lisboa, in 2014; holds a graduate qualification in Management for Jurists (2008), and in Taxation, both from Universidade Católica de Portugal (2006). She took a course in British and American Common Law, at the Roger Williams University, Rhode Island, in 2003. She was top senior Tax sonsultant, at Deloitte, from 2005 to 2012. She headed the Tax department at law firm MC&A – Sociedade de Advogados, R.L. She was a member of the jury for future judges in the Centre of Judiciaries Studies (2018 and 2019). She joined the Bar Association in 2014.
