Boursorama is the digital banking subsidiary of French financial group Société Générale.

Until this transaction, Boursorama owned 100% of Spanish online bank Self Trade Bank (Self Bank).

Warburg Pincus is a private equity firm headquartered in New York.

The sale, of undisclosed value, is reportedly part of Société Générale’s plans to simplify its setup and focus on its core businesses. In the announcement of the sale, the French financial group said it “remains committed to the Spanish market through its global banking and investor solutions activities.”

Partners Fernando Mínguez in Madrid and Gerard Correig in Barcelona fronted the Cuatrecasas team advising Boursorama, which also retained Gide. Partner Guillaume Rougier-Brierre in Paris led the Gide lawyers.

Both Cuatrecasas and Gide are part of a non-exclusive network of European law firm together with Chiomenti in Italy and Gleiss Lutz in Germany.
