RocaJunyent hires Montse Pérez Simeón and Natalia Ontiveros
RocaJunyent has incorporated Montse Pérez Simeón and Natalia Ontiveros to strengthen its Banking & Finance and Corporate practice areas. Both join as associate directors in their respective departments.
Pérez Simeón joins the team led by partner Xavier Foz, bringing experience in financial regulation, corporate governance and capital markets, while Ontiveros joins the team headed by Cloe Barnils, where she will contribute her background in corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate restructurings and commercial contracting.
Banking and governance expertise
Joining from Cellnex Telecom, where she was director of Corporate Governance, Pérez Simeón has built her career in banking and commercial law, corporate governance, capital markets and corporate transactions, having held senior legal roles at large corporate and financial groups. She holds a law degree from the University of Barcelona and an LL.M. in Commercial Law from the University of Heidelberg. She began her career at Uría Menéndez before spending more than two decades at Grupo la Caixa, Criteria CaixaCorp and CaixaBank, where she took on increasing responsibilities in commercial and corporate governance matters.
Between 2011 and 2024, she led the commercial team (Corporate & Capital Markets) within the General Secretariat and the Board of Directors’ office at CaixaBank, advising on several corporate transactions in the Spanish financial sector, including the merger of CaixaBank with Bankia and the earlier integrations of Barclays, Banco de Valencia and Banca Cívica. She also worked on capital markets transactions, share issuances, buyback programs, relations with institutional investors and corporate governance projects at the financial institution.
Reinforcing the commercial practice
Ontiveros joins the Commercial Law area with more than 25 years of experience in corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate restructurings, commercial contracting and compliance. She comes from Dentons, where she was counsel. Throughout her career she has advised domestic and international clients on legally and commercially complex transactions, both in company sale processes and in investment deals led by private equity and venture capital funds.
A law graduate from the University of Barcelona, Ontiveros developed her career at international firms, such as Dentons, Fieldfisher and EY Abogados. Her experience covers domestic and cross-border acquisitions, mergers, carve-outs, corporate reorganizations and complex corporate transactions.
