PwC Tax & Legal appoints two new global heads of M&A and ESG

PwC Tax & Legal has appointed Carmen Millán (pictured right) and Ismael Aznar (pictured left) as the new global heads of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and sustainability and climate change (ESG) respectively.

With more than 20 years of experience, Millán is a partner in the corporate and M&A department and is a member of PwC’s global legal services leadership team, with responsibility for the firm’s various legal practices around the world.

The new Global Head of M&A specialises in corporate and commercial advice to companies and has led numerous domestic and international transactions.

Ismael Aznar joined PwC Tax & Legal in july 2022 and has years of international experience, both at the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the International Civil Aviation Organization. He has also participated in G20 climate and energy meetings.

Aznar, who comes from the Directorate General for Environmental Quality and Assessment of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, was responsible for policies on circular economy, environmental assessment, pollution control and air quality or prevention of chemical pollution, among others. Under his leadership, the new Law on Waste and Contaminated Land for a Circular Economy and the Circular Economy Permit were drafted and approved.
