Uría Menéndez has advised Portobello Capital on its acquisition of a majority stake in The Béaba Suavinex Group from Bluegem Capital Partners. At the same time, Baker McKenzie advised Bluegem, which will reinvest in the business and remain a minority shareholder alongside Portobello to support the group’s next phase of growth.
On the financial side of the transacion, Portobello was advised by LABS Corporate Finance, Marlborough Partners, Bain & Company and EY. Bluegem’s advisory team additionally included Altamar Advisory Partners, Harris Williams, Strategy& and Alvarez & Marsal.
The transaction represents the second investment made by Portobello through Fund V and remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
The Béaba Suavinex Group combines the premium baby care brands Suavinex and Béaba, which operate across complementary product categories, distribution channels and international markets. The business is supported by manufacturing facilities in Spain and Slovakia and is led by chief executive Julien Laporte.
Since acquiring Béaba in 2020 and Suavinex in 2022, Bluegem has overseen the group’s expansion through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. The company has quadrupled in size during that period, reaching €130 million in revenue and €20 million in EBITDA in 2026.
Following completion of the deal, Portobello and Bluegem intend to support the group’s international expansion, accelerate the development of its online business, broaden its product offering into adjacent baby care categories and pursue selective M&A opportunities.
