PLMJ’s assistance included the entire M&A process and notification process to the Competition Authority, as well as issues related to the financing of the operation.

PLMJ created a multidisciplinary team to advise on the operation, which integrated the areas of M&A, Competition and Banking & Finance, coordinated by partner Diogo Perestrelo (pictured left) and coordinating associate Rita Albuquerque (pictured right), (Corporate M&A).

The team also included Pedro Gaspar Silva, Carolina Winter Branco and Mariana Guisado (Corporate M&A), Ricardo Oliveira, coordinating partner of the European and Competition area and Bruno Ferreira, co-coordinating partner of Banking, Finance and Capital Markets and Sara Lemos de Meneses, senior associate of the same department.

The acquisition is part of the Explorer IV Fund’s investment strategy, to strengthen support for leading national companies in the market with high growth and profitability potential, as well as to maximise the response to the environmental concerns of investors, who are looking for a portfolio of socially and ecologically responsible investment, in line with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) standards.
