Ontier advises on Estudiantes control stake deal
Ontier has advised a private investor on the acquisition of a controlling stake in Estudiantes, one of Spain’s historic basketball clubs. The transaction was launched in June and was completed after the Spanish Higher Sports Council (Consejo Superior de Deportes, CSD) granted its authorization in September.
The Ontier team that worked on the deal was led by María Barbed and Isabel Laverde, from the firm’s Corporate/M&A practice, who handled the structuring and execution of the share acquisition. The regulatory aspects of the transaction were overseen by Javier Loriente and Beatriz Fernández. Tax matters were managed by Teresa Valdelomar.
