Miranda recruits Luis Borges Rodrigues from Gouveia Pereira & Associados

Lisbon-headquartered Miranda & Associados has recruited Luis Borges Rodrigues from Gouveia Pereira & Associados to jointly lead its real estate practice and coordinate the Cape Verde jurisdiction group.

Borges, who will join Miranda as a partner and who will co-lead the real estate team with fellow Miranda partner Rita Lufinha Borges, has more than 15 years of experience in finance and real estate.

An additional six lawyers are also making the move to Miranda from Gouveia Pereira & Associados, they are: senior associate Pedro Rodrigues, associates Catarina Campelo and Sara Pires Correia, junior associates Sara Carpinteiro and Roberta Almeida, and trainee lawyer Sérgio Fagundes Conceição.

Commenting on the hires, Miranda managing partner Diogo Xavier da Cunha, said: “The synergies with the Miranda and Miranda Alliance project in Portugal and Cape Verde are so evident, to the point that we are already witnessing immediate results from this integration. With this step, we greatly reinforce our growing practice in the real estate and tourism sector, which we defined as a clear bet in Portugal, and consolidated the coverage of Miranda Alliance in Cape Verde, with an effective presence in four islands: Santiago (Praia), Sal, Boavista and São Vicente.”
