Melo Alves Global partners with Ammadeus in Angola

Melo Alves has entered into an exclusive partnership agreement with the Angolan law firm Ammadeus, taking a new step in the expansion of its international project, Melo Alves Global. The partnership aims at strengthening its presence and its capacity to operate in the Angolan market, with particular focus on the energy, oil and gas, mining, infrastructure, aviation, banking and financial sectors, says Melo Alves.

The partnership was formalised between the coordinators of the Angola Desk, Bruno Melo Alves and Rui Andrade, and Ana Major, managing partner of Ammadeus.

About Ammadeus

The Ammadeus team is led by two partners, Ana Major and Marcelo Mendes Mateus, both international consultants to Melo Alves Global, and currently comprises eight professionals. The name Ammadeus results from the combination of the initials of the two partners, Ana Major and Marcelo Mendes Mateus.

Ammadeus operates across several areas of law, including correspondent lawyers in Cabinda and in the Lunda regions. Its main practice areas in Angola include compliance and internal investigations, criminal, civil and commercial litigation, banking and finance, foreign investment, labour law, privacy and data protection, taxation, mergers and acquisitions, as well as the formation of joint ventures.

“In each project, we ensure precise and integrated coordination, mobilising the resources and expertise required to achieve the best outcome for our client. The exclusive integration of Ammadeus into Melo Alves Global expands our reach and allows us to incorporate international experience and best practices into every solution we develop,” highlights Ana Major.

Bruno Melo Alves adds: “This project represents far more than a partnership between two law firms. It stands for an integrated Angola–Portugal legal platform, made up of teams with over 15 years of joint work, continuous presence in the Angolan market and the ambition to take Ammadeus to other geographies, starting from Angola.”
