Letslaw opens Barcelona office led by Raisa Venermo
Letslaw, a firm focused on business and technology law, has opened a new office in Barcelona as part of its growth strategy in Spain. The new base will be led by Raisa Venermo, a lawyer admitted in Spain who holds an LL.M Master of Laws, who joins as managing partner and will also take over leadership of the Nordic Desk at Grupo Lets. She joins from Talenom Spain, a listed Finnish company specializing in financial and technology services, where she was director of business operations.
With the opening, Letslaw establishes a permanent structure to serve clients in Catalonia, support the entry of foreign companies and investors into Spain, and assist local companies with their internationalization processes, says the law firm. The Barcelona office will focus particularly on business establishment, investment and technology-related matters, while the firm also plans to expand its activity in artificial intelligence, privacy, cybersecurity and compliance work, areas facing growing regulatory demands.

Venermo’s background
Venermo brings more than two decades of experience in international legal advisory work, business establishment and business development. Before her tenure at Talenom Spain, she founded AvaLaw, later renamed AvaLanding, a firm through which she advised clients from over 70 countries on their investment, establishment and business development processes in Spain. In 2021, the company was acquired by Talenom as part of its entry into the Spanish market.
Venermo began her professional career in Finland, France and Mexico and, after settling in Barcelona, practiced for three years at Jausas, where she created and led the Nordic Desk. She currently serves as secretary of the board of directors of the Spanish-Finnish Chamber of Commerce.
Nordic Desk leadership
At Letslaw, Venermo will also take charge of the Nordic Desk at Grupo Lets, with the aim of strengthening relationships with companies and investors from the Nordic countries and facilitating business projects between those markets and Spain.
Venermo said “Barcelona brings together an attractive combination of international companies, investment, entrepreneurship and technology”, and that the new office is intended to serve as an entry point for companies and investors arriving in Spain while also acting as a platform to help local businesses grow and access new markets.
The firm expects to progressively add new professionals and specialties to build a multidisciplinary team in Barcelona, which will work in coordination with the Madrid team and Grupo Lets’ international network, present in more than 40 countries.
