Latham recruits Linklaters lawyer to lead Madrid employment team

Latham & Watkins has recruited Linklaters’ Naiara Rodríguez-Escudero to head its new Madrid employment department.

Rodríguez-Escudero (left), who was a counsel at Linklaters, has joined Latham as a partner.

She was at Linklaters for 16 years, prior to that Rodríguez-Escudero spent two years at Cuatrecasas.

Latham is looking to grow its Madrid office and is understood to be scouring the market for talent. It is believed a senior banking partner and a real estate partner are among the firm’s priorities.

Earlier this year, former DLA Piper senior partner and global co-chairman Juan Picón joined Latham as managing partner of the firm’s Madrid office. Joining him in the move from DLA were partners Ignacio Gómez-Sancha and José Antonio Sánchez-Dafos.
