Herbert Smith Freehills appoints new Regional Director of Litigation and Arbitration at AMEA, Paulino Fajardo

pjimage 24Paulino Fajardo (pictured), a partner in the Spanish firm of Herbert Smith Freehills, has been appointed head of the Litigation and Arbitration practice for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. His appointment will take effect from 1 May 2022.

With more than 30 years’ experience, Fajardo joined Herbert Smith Freehills as a partner in 2014. He is a dual qualified English and Spanish lawyer and is one of the most recognised experts in international markets, both as a lawyer and in the role of mediator and arbitrator.

Fajardo has an extensive background in comparative law and specialises in arbitration and court proceedings in various institutions and jurisdictions, as well as in alternative dispute resolution (ADR). He represents clients in dispute resolution and insurance matters, mainly in offshore and onshore energy (oil and gas, renewables), infrastructure, construction and engineering, banking and financial fraud, political risk, corporate, breach of contract, directors’ liability (D&O), professional liability, W&I, BBB, K&RE, transport (aviation, maritime, rail) and reinsurance.

Fajardo will replace his London’s office partner, Jenny Stainsby, who completes her three-year term as EMEA regional head of litigation.
