Guillermo Hidalgo head of data protection and digital law at Maio Legal
Maio Legal has reinforced its commitment to privacy and technology advisory services with the appointment of Guillermo Hidalgo Viedma as the new head of its data protection and digital law department. Hidalgo, who joins the firm as Counsel, takes on the challenge of consolidating and expanding the firm’s expertise in privacy, information technologies, and digital law.
In his new role, Hidalgo will report directly to Marco Bolognini, founding partner and head of Maio Legal’s corporate law department.
With an extensive background in the legal sector, Hidalgo previously served as senior associate at Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo, after holding positions at firms such as Ecix Group and EY Abogados. He also served as Data Protection Officer (DPO) for Altamira Asset Management in Spain and Portugal.
Hidalgo specializes in advising listed companies and large corporations, with expertise in privacy, telecommunications, entertainment, electronic contracting, and technological development.
In addition to his professional career, Hidalgo is co-director of the Digital Law & Business Tech Master’s program at Ediae-Cámara Granada and has contributed as a co-author to various publications, including “Derecho e Inteligencia Artificial,” published by the General Council of the Judiciary.
