GA_P advises on €220M Fira Barcelona financing

Gómez-Acebo & Pombo has advised on a €220 million syndicated financing granted to Fira 2000 to support part of the expansion and redevelopment project of Fira de Barcelona.

The financing has been provided by a consortium of lenders including BBVA, Banco Sabadell, CaixaBank, Banco Santander and the Institut Català de Finances (ICF), with the facility backed by a guarantee from the Government of Catalonia.

The transaction will finance the first phase of the refurbishment of the Montjuïc venue, with up to €125 million allocated to the project, as well as the completion of the new “Hall Zero” pavilion at the Gran Via venue, with up to €95 million earmarked for its development. Both projects form part of a broader investment strategy aimed at reinforcing Fira de Barcelona’s international positioning.
