finReg360 adds six lawyers from Requeijo Abogados
finReg360 has reinforced its Financial Regulation area with the incorporation of six professionals from the law firm Álvaro Requeijo Abogados. The move, announced on 13 October 2026 in Madrid, brings Álvaro Requeijo Pascua and Álvaro Requeijo Torcal into the firm alongside four other lawyers, each with more than twenty years of professional experience.
Álvaro Requeijo Pascua will join finReg360 as counsel, while Álvaro Requeijo Torcal takes on the role of director. They are accompanied by Mercedes Villarrubia, Ana Risco, Pelayo Vidal and Pedro Arévalo, who complete the incoming team. The new hires are expected to strengthen finReg360’s specialisation in the insurance and pensions sector while expanding its capabilities in litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution. The team also brings technical experience in administrative, sanctioning and tax procedures, as well as liability management and legal risk defence.
The profiles
Álvaro Requeijo Pascua, founder of Álvaro Requeijo Abogados and a State Attorney on leave of absence, has built a long career advising corporations and entities. He founded his own firm in 2002, known for its multidisciplinary approach. Álvaro Requeijo Torcal joins as director of Financial Regulation, bringing a career focused on financial regulation and insurance law, having worked on matters relating to the oversight and supervision of insurance entities, insurance distribution, pension governance, conduct regulation and savings and investment products.
According to Jorge Ferrer Barreiro, co-founding partner of finReg360, the incorporations represent a step in the firm’s growth strategy, with the insurance-sector experience of the incoming team complementing finReg360’s existing financial regulation capabilities while adding specialisation in litigation, arbitration and administrative law. He noted that the firm has followed and collaborated with this team for years, highlighting a professional and personal fit with finReg360’s values and client approach.
Álvaro Requeijo Torcal said that the insurance and pensions sectors face an increasingly complex regulatory environment, where entities require not only legal rigour on sector-specific rules but also a cross-cutting understanding of all applicable regulations and a practical, business-oriented perspective. He added that joining finReg360 will allow the team to address these challenges on a larger scale, with a stronger team reinforcing the advisory services offered to sector entities.
