Filippo Monopoli joins Flix as head of legal EU West
Filippo Monopoli has joined Flix as the company’s new head of legal EU West, overseeing legal matters across Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.
Monopoli announced his appointment on LinkedIn, marking the start of a new role within the mobility company’s legal function.
In his new position, Monopoli will be responsible for Flix’s legal activities across the four markets covered by the EU West region. Flix operates intercity bus and train services across multiple international markets through its FlixBus and FlixTrain brands.

Monopoli has spent more than 11 years at Flix, where he has developed his career within the company’s legal and regulatory function.
Before taking up his current role as Head of Legal EU West, he served as Senior Expert Legal Counsel Europe South & Nordics from January 2025 to March 2026. Previously, he was Senior Expert Legal Counsel for Italy, Spain and Portugal from April 2023 to December 2024, following four years as Senior Expert Legal Counsel.
He joined Flix in 2015 as a junior legal & regulatory affairs manager, subsequently becoming Legal & Regulatory Affairs Manager and Senior Legal & Regulatory Affairs Manager.
During his career at Flix, Monopoli has advised on legal and regulatory matters linked to the company’s expansion in Italy, compliance with European and national transport regulations, contracts, relationships with public authorities and strategic business matters.
