Fieldfisher hires Vanessa Armas as banking partner
Fieldfisher has strengthened its financial and transactional practice in Spain with the incorporation of Vanessa Armas as a new partner in its Banking and Finance department. Armas brings over 25 years of experience and a specialisation in project finance across the energy and infrastructure sectors, having advised sponsors, developers, lenders and investors on the financing, acquisition and divestment of projects and energy assets in both Spain and Latin America.
Her arrival adds momentum to Fieldfisher’s Banking and Finance practice in Spain, led by partner Jacobo Otero, and reinforces the firm’s capacity to support clients on increasingly complex and sophisticated financing operations. The move comes amid significant investment needs tied to the energy transition and the development of renewables, storage and new infrastructure.
The hire arrives one week after the incorporation of Ignacio Corujo as Capital Markets partner, a move Fieldfisher’s managing partners describe as reflecting the firm’s growth strategy in Spain.
The profile
Prior to joining Fieldfisher, Armas built her career at Freshfields, Jones Day and Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, where she advised domestic and international clients on complex financing transactions, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
