EY advises HOOPP on majority stake in Iante
EY Abogados has advised Canadian pension fund HOOPP on the acquisition of a majority stake in Iante from a shareholder group led by Ares Management.
Iante is the parent company of a Spanish group of real estate companies — predominantly SOCIMIs — that owns more than 2,000 residential units in the Madrid metropolitan area. EY’s tax advisory scope covered due diligence, tax structuring, and tax advice on the share purchase agreement (SPA).
The team
The Spanish tax team was led by Manuel Paz, partner in the International tax and transactions practice at EY Abogados, alongside Lucía de Lorenzo, senior manager, Ignacio Cuevas, senior, and Delia Durand, lawyer, all from the same department. The Spanish team worked in coordination with Adam Mendes, partner in the tax practice at EY Canada.
In addition to tax services, EY provided financial advisory services — including financial due diligence and SPA review — led by Leonid Savelyev, partner at EY Portugal, and Morgan Richardson, partner in strategy and transactions at EY Canada.
