EY Abogados advises on Velto’s partnership with Q Energy and acquisition of a 130MW renewable portfolio in France
Velto Renewables, backed by global investment group CDPQ, has entered into a partnership with Q Energy Solutions, a key player in Europe’s renewable energy sector, to acquire a portfolio of large-scale renewable energy projects across multiple European countries in the coming years.
As an initial step, Velto has acquired a portfolio of photovoltaic and wind projects in France with a combined capacity of nearly 130 MW. In the coming weeks, both companies plan to finalize the acquisition of an additional portfolio of approximately 400 MW in Spain and Portugal.
By partnering with Velto, supported by one of the world’s leading infrastructure investors, CDPQ, Q Energy strengthens its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and excellence in renewable energy development. The initial portfolio includes five projects under construction in France: two solar photovoltaic plants, two wind farms, and Les Îlots Blandin, Europe’s largest floating solar photovoltaic farm, built on industrial water reservoirs using innovative technology for sustainable energy generation.
EY has provided tax advisory services to Velto. The advisory team includes Manuel Paz (partner), Verónica Gómez (senior manager), Florencia Gaido (partner), Alberto Ameneiro (director), Jean-Philippe Barbe (partner), Julien Bachelier (senior manager), Jaime Rocha (partner), and Rita F.
