César Albiñana and María González Gordon, managing partners of CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo, point out that the firm’s focus is on leading key sectors with promising prospects. “We continue with our philosophy of solid, profitable and efficient growth, facing the challenge of maintaining excellence and constant effort in everything we do” they explain.
Strategic Plan 2024-2026
According to a press release, this result is the result of the performance of its transactional areas, such as Corporate and Banking and Finance, accompanied by the growth of other areas such as Public and Regulated Sectors, Litigation and Arbitration, New Technologies Law, Tax and Labor.
Throughout this period, the firm has also observed a constant demand to accompany its clients in areas such as Private Equity, TMC, Energy and Infrastructure. Last year, CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo strengthened its presence in more specific business lines, such as Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, Data Protection, M&A in Regulated Sectors and Tax Litigation
Talent
As a result of this strategy, Alejandro González and Pablo Gutiérrez joined the firm as new partners for the Banking and Finance and Labor areas, respectively. Alejandro González, with extensive experience in Fintech, leverage buy-out transactions, corporate restructurings, refinancing and securitizations; and Pablo Gutiérrez, State Attorney on leave of absence and former coordinator of the Social Department of the State Attorney General’s Office, who has developed a career in both contentious and advisory functions in the Public Administration.
In addition, Elena Alcázar was appointed as a new partner for the Corporate area, with more than 12 years of experience in advising national and international companies, specialized in renewable energies, automotive and industry; and Juan Moreno for the Public Law and Regulated Sectors area, with more than 10 years advising large companies in complex matters and with a high regulatory component.
Technology
Beyond adapting to the technological challenges of its clients, the firm continues to invest in technology to provide its lawyers with the tools they need. CMS was one of 600 organizations globally to join the early access program for the launch of Microsoft 365 Copilot and, also in 2024, partnered with one of the leading Generative AI platforms, Harvey. That same year, the firm launched the CMS Comillas Digital Transformation Observatory, aimed at becoming a global benchmark in the study of digitalization processes in the social, economic and legal spheres.
Social commitment
Finally, as part of its commitment to society, it is worth highlighting its involvement in the I Pro Bono Spain Challenge, collaborating in the winning project “Dignity in retirement: towards a regulatory framework for reverse mortgages focused on the elderly”. In addition, the firm was registered in the Carbon Footprint Registry, offsetting and carbon dioxide absorption projects of the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC), under the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.
