EY Abogados advises Iren on Nostrum Group deal
EY Abogados has advised Australian company Iren on the acquisition of Nostrum Group, a Spanish data centre developer, in a cross-border transaction involving Spain, the United States, and Australia. The deal marks Iren’s entry into the European AI data centre market.
Nostrum Group, founded in 2009 as Ingenostrum, originally focused on renewable energy before pivoting — following the entry of Andera Partners in 2023 — toward the development, construction, and operation of next-generation data centres. Through the acquisition, Iren gains approximately 490 MW of secured and grid-connected capacity in Spain, along with an additional portfolio of projects under development.
