EY Abogados advises Atir Hospitality financing
EY Abogados has advised hotel group Atir Hospitality on a transaction involving €43 million in financing intended to fund the restoration of the Teatre Principal in Barcelona, described in the announcement as the oldest theatre in the city. The deal, announced on 21 July 2026, combines a capital increase with financing granted by Buenavista Equity Partners.
The financing will support a comprehensive restoration of more than 10,000 square metres of the complex, covering historic spaces including the Teatre Principal itself, the Teatro Latino, the former Jai Alai fronton and the Cúpula Venus. The project is described as one of the most significant heritage, cultural and urban recovery initiatives in Barcelona, with reopening scheduled for autumn 2028.
