Enel´s in-house team advises on solar energy tender award

Endesa Generación Portugal, subsidiary of Enel’s Spanish company Endesa, has been awarded the right to connect 99 MW of a new solar + storage project to the national grid

The investment, under a 15-year contract with the country’s National Electrical System, will amount to around €90 million for the construction of the project, which will be located in the Algarve region and is expected to start operating in 2024

The facility, which will be developed, built and operated by the Enel Group’s renewables arm Enel Green Power, will be the Group’s first renewable + storage project in the Iberian Peninsula.

The tender process was advised by a combined Spanish and Portuguese in-house team of lawyers from Enel including Pablo de Mena Pernil, Virginia Berenguer Gomez, and Maria Teresa Pacheco Plaza from Spain, along with Sara Terras Da Luz Gonçalves and Joâo Miguel Vieira Azevedo Estrela from Portugal.
