Ecix names David Ferrete cybersecurity partner
Ecix has appointed David Ferrete as Partner of its Cybersecurity division, a move the firm says consolidates one of its fastest-growing areas and strengthens its capacity to respond to regulatory frameworks such as NIS2, DORA and the ENS.
Carlos Alberto Sáiz Peña, vice president of Ecix Group, said: “This appointment fills us with pride. David has been with us for a long time, has grown alongside the firm, and today he is taking a step that reflects exactly what we want for the firm: for talented professionals committed to the Ecix project to keep growing.” The firm frames the appointment as part of its approach to cybersecurity as a matter of corporate governance rather than a purely technological issue.
The profile
Ferrete has spent nine years at Ecix, where he previously served as Director of the Cybersecurity division, leading teams and projects focused on the protection of information, processes and people through an approach combining prevention, detection and incident response. As Partner, he will continue to lead the division, concentrating primarily on cybersecurity, cyber compliance and cyber intelligence, and covering regulatory frameworks including NIS2, DORA, RIA and the ENS, alongside incident support and alignment with international cybersecurity standards.
He leads a multidisciplinary team of lawyers, analysts, engineers and specialists, and has focused on the protection of intangible assets and on translating regulatory frameworks into operational governance and control models. According to Ecix, his promotion reflects both his professional development and the firm’s ongoing focus on internal talent and on profiles able to grow in key practice areas.
Beyond his day-to-day work, Ferrete is involved with the cybersecurity and regulatory compliance sector through industry associations, academic activities, forums and projects aimed at improving organisations’ digital resilience.
