Dentons hires Linklaters tax lawyer

Dentons has recruited tax lawyer María Cortizas from Linklaters.

Cortizas, who spent 12 years with Linklaters, will join Dentons as a partner.

In her new role, she will specialise in advising clients on the tax structuring of M&A deals, restructuring projects and capital markets transactions.

Prior to joining Linklaters, Cortizas was a senior manager in the transactions department at KPMG Abogados. Her areas of expertise include cross-border tax planning, IPOs, and acquisitions by private equity funds and real estate funds.

Jesús Varela, managing partner of Dentons in Spain said: “Over the last few years, Dentons has seen a steady increase not only in the volume, but also in the size of M&A and real estate deals we have been working on in Spain. Maria strengthens our tax department and fits our growth strategy perfectly. Maria will work closely with our transactional lawyers to assist clients in the structuring of their deals, investments and business activities in Spain.”
