Cuatrecasas advises Vicinay Marine on Court-Approved

Cuatrecasas has advised Vicinay Marine, the global leader in the design, innovation, manufacture and supply of mooring chains, on a complex debt restructuring process that has culminated in the court approval of the group’s restructuring plan, securing the future of a company with more than 200 years of history.

The firm advised the group throughout a process lasting more than two years, aimed at strengthening its financial position and ensuring business continuity. The restructuring plan was ultimately approved by the court, which dismissed three challenges filed by creditors against the homologation of the plan and ordered them to bear legal costs.

The team

The multidisciplinary Cuatrecasas team advising on the matter was led by lawyers Tomás Ugalde, Rosa Gual, Desiree Cazorla, Teresa Allende, Paula Mitjans and María Zubiaguirre from the firm’s Restructuring, Insolvency and Special Situations practice.

They were supported by Joanes Labayen, from the Corporate department and secretary of Vicinay Marine’s board of directors, and Eduardo Pastor, from the Litigation practice.
