CIAR and CEA-40 announce management appointments

Javier Íscar, managing partner at Íscar Arbitraje, has been named new president of the Ibero-American Arbitration Center while Heidi López Castro, counsel at Uría Menéndez, has been appointed as Madrid CEA-40 coordinator

Spanish arbitrator Javier Íscar (pictured left) replaces Luis Martí Mingarro. The appointment was made during the celebration of the VI General Assembly, in which Íscar resulted elected.

The new president of the CIAR will maintain his role as European Association of Arbitration secretary-general and as Center for Mediation and Conflict Resolution CEMED chairman and the Spanish-Moroccan Court of Arbitration president.

Heidi López (pictured right) is a lawyer in Uría Menéndez Madrid office. She joined the firm in 2007 and she specialises in domestic and international Arbitration and Litigation. Heidi has participated in Commercial and Investment Arbitration proceedings with seats in Brussels, Bucharest, Geneva, Madrid, Paris, Stockholm, Tel Aviv, Washington and Zurich, both ad hoc and under the rules of various international arbitration institutions, such as the ICC, ICSID and CAM. Heidi’s experience encompasses a number of sectors, including banking, construction, mergers and acquisitions, energy, oil & gas, and international investment protection
