CEU San Pablo offers free Harvey AI access to law students
From the 2026–2027 academic year, the Faculty of Law at CEU San Pablo University in Madrid will provide all students and professors with access to Harvey AI. Students will be able to use the licence free of charge throughout their time at the Faculty, regardless of their degree, double degree or postgraduate programme. The initiative will give more than 1,500 students and 150 professors the opportunity to incorporate the technology into their academic activities.
Harvey is an artificial intelligence platform developed specifically for the legal and professional services sectors. Its tools can be used, among other functions, to conduct legal research, analyse large volumes of documentation, review contracts, and assist in the preparation and drafting of legal documents.
“Artificial intelligence is no longer solely a specialist field; it has become an increasingly necessary skill for legal professionals. The Faculty’s strategy therefore aims to make technological education available to all its students, including those studying any of its degree and double-degree programmes who have not opted for courses specifically focused on digital law”, states CEU.
Access to Harvey AI will be accompanied by practical training in the use of this and other artificial intelligence tools applied to legal work. Professionals who form part of the Faculty’s teaching staff will also contribute to these activities, including partners from firms such as PwC Tax & Legal, Écija, Garrigues and Roca Junyent, bringing into the classroom the experience of those directly involved in the technological transformation of legal practice.
In this way, students will be able to learn at university how to use, rigorously and responsibly, tools they will subsequently encounter in their professional lives.
Legaltech Lab
The introduction of Harvey AI forms part of a broader project that the Faculty of Law is launching during the 2026–2027 academic year: the creation of its Legaltech Lab, conceived as a space to promote and coordinate initiatives related to digital law, AI and legal innovation.
Its first activities include the Legal Tech Challenge, a competition in which students will work over several months of the academic year to develop innovative solutions for the legal sector; Legal Tech Day, which will bring together students, academics and professionals during the second semester to discuss the main trends in the technological transformation of law; and the creation of a Legal Hackers Student Group made up of university students, enabling them to join the international Legal Hackers community and actively participate in initiatives related to legal and technological innovation.
The Legaltech Lab will also provide a framework for developing new training, experimentation and collaboration activities with law firms, companies and professionals in the sector.
