Baker McKenzie increases revenue by 15% exceeding €115M
Baker McKenzie has surpassed the milestone of 100 million euros in revenue in Spain in 2024. This achievement marks a significant moment for the international law firm, which will celebrate its 60th anniversary in the country in 2025. The firm successfully exceeded this threshold, reaching 115 million euros in revenue, a 15% increase compared to the previous year.
2024 has been a remarkable year for the firm, led in Spain by Mireia Sabaté and Rodrigo Ogea. Baker McKenzie has been involved in some of the most significant transactions of the year, including the sale of Iberdrola’s combined cycle business in Mexico, the acquisition of Planasa, a global leader in the agro-tech sector, by EW Group, and the acquisition and financing of the hospitality and real estate business of the five-star luxury resort Six Senses Ibiza by Gruppo Statuto.
In 2024, the fastest-growing practice areas in Baker McKenzie’s Spanish offices have been Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Employment, Tax, Digital Law, and Energy. This growth reflects broader economic trends both in Spain and globally.
Beyond its multidisciplinary approach, the firm is recognized for its deep understanding of the local market and its ability to provide comprehensive solutions to its clients. These include leading Spanish multinational companies and international corporations across various industries.
Throughout 2024, in addition to the appointment of Mireia Sabaté as Co-Managing Partner on July 1, succeeding Bruno Domínguez, Baker McKenzie has strengthened key strategic areas for the firm. Notable hires include Juan Gelabert as the Head of Banking & Finance in the Madrid office and Júlia Samsó, who joined the Barcelona office to reinforce the firm’s expertise in Competition and European Union Law.
