Ayuela Jiménez set to launch London Office in January 2025
Spanish boutique law firm Ayuela Jiménez, known for its expertise in arbitration and litigation, is reportedly set to open an office in London by January 2025. While the firm has not issued an official public statement, it has repeatedly confirmed the details privately, Iberian Lawyer understands from reliable sources. Supporting these indications, the firm’s website includes a London office in its contact section, suggesting strategic ambitions to enhance collaboration between the Spanish and UK legal markets.
A new presence in Wigmore Street
Public records from the UK confirm that Ayuela Jiménez Limited is registered at 126 Wigmore Street, London, W1U 3RZ. An address change, recorded on October 23, 2024, indicates the relocation from an earlier registration at 48 Chancery Lane. These records, which include filing deadlines for financial statements and confirmations, are accessible on the UK government’s Companies House website.
The decision to establish a presence in London aligns with statements by managing partner Eduardo Ayuela, who noted in a September 2024 interview with Expansión that the firm aims to expand internationally.
By positioning itself in London, Ayuela Jiménez aims to facilitate stronger links between the legal sectors in Spain and the UK, while providing support to international firms seeking expertise in the Spanish market.
The growth
Approaching its 10th anniversary, Ayuela Jiménez has developed into a recognized player in business dispute resolution. Initially established with a generalist focus, the firm shifted to specialization in arbitration and litigation five years ago, inspired by successful boutique models in the Anglo-Saxon legal world. In 2024, the firm is expected to report revenue exceeding €4 million, reflecting steady growth despite a competitive legal environment. This trajectory has been supported by strategic investments in key practice areas and talent acquisition.
The firm has taken steps to enhance its capabilities in 2024. In November, Ayuela Jiménez hired Fernando Gutiérrez as a partner leading its litigation and arbitration department. Gutiérrez, who served as co-head partner at Pinsent Masons from 2022 to 2024 (here the news).
