Auren adds Elena Michelena as partner and Jordi Bonet as of counsel
Auren has reinforced its Public Law and Regulatory practice in Barcelona through the addition of two lawyers from Ecija: Elena Michelena, who joins as partner of Auren Legal, and Jordi Bonet, who comes on board as of counsel. Both will lead the development of the firm’s Public and Regulatory Law area from the Barcelona office.
The two lawyers previously worked together at Ecija, where they built and consolidated the firm’s Public Law practice, advising companies, investors and public administrations on regulatory matters.
Backgrounds of the new hires
Elena Michelena has more than 25 years of experience in Public Law, regulation and public procurement. Throughout her career she has advised public administrations, publicly owned entities and companies in highly regulated sectors on tender processes, regulatory adaptation and compliance, with a focus on public procurement, urban planning, environmental law and sector-specific regulation. She holds a law degree from the University of Barcelona and has held leadership positions at firms including Garrigues and Uría Menéndez, as well as founding her own boutique firm. Before joining Auren, she was partner of the Public and Regulatory Law area at Ecija.
Jordi Bonet has experience in Public and Administrative Law, with a particular focus on urban planning, infrastructure, environmental matters and territorial planning. He has advised public and private entities on projects with significant territorial impact, primarily in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, and has solid experience in urban planning, licensing procedures, administrative processes and contentious-administrative litigation. He has combined legal practice with institutional responsibilities, including participation in governing bodies of public and private institutions, and was part of the Commission of Experts tasked with defining Catalonia’s territorial and administrative organisation model.
Expanding the practice
