Ashurst/Simmons & Simmons advise on BayWa r.e. sale to Encavis AG

Ashurst has advised BayWa r.e. on the sale of the Archidona solar power project to Encavis AG, who were advised by Simmons & Simmons

Ashurst has advised BayWa r.e., on the sale of the Archidona solar power project, to Encavis AG, amounting to 56.3 MW, located in Málaga (Spain).

BayWa r.e. is a leading global renewable energy developer, service provider, distributor and energy solutions provider. The company is based in 28 countries, with revenues of almost €2.5 billion. BayWa r.e. delivers end-to-end project solutions, ongoing operations management and is an independent power producer with an expanding energy trading business. The business has brought over 4 GW of renewable energy online, while managing over 10 GW of assets.

BayWa r.e. España started operating in 2010. Since then, it has developed, constructed, managed and promoted photovoltaic projects throughout the country.

This is the first time Encavis Asset Management has acquired a solar park in Spain. The Archidona solar park will save 25,600 tonnes of harmful CO2 after its completion and expected grid connection in March 2022.
