Antas da Cunha Ecija has signed two new of counsel and one associate

Antas da Cunha Ecija & Associados has just announced the reinforcement of its team with the integration of Artur Filipe da Silva and Jane Kirkby as of counsel and associate Diogo Moreira Ramos. The three of them move from BAS where they have been active in the last years.

Artur Filipe da Silva (pictured centre) has been working in BAS for the last decade. He belonged to the core of the firm’s partners. He joins Antas da Cunha as of counsel, where he will provide legal advice in the areas of Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity and Real Estate. From his long professional career, he advised, between 2003 and 2010, the then Mission, Innovation and Knowledge Unit (UMIC) – the Government body responsible for the implementation of the National Public Procurement Programme. There he advised public entities on Corporate Law issues and private entities on Private Equity, M&A and, in general, Commercial Law. He was also a member of the team that advised the Portuguese Government on the constitution and implementation of the National Hospital Public-Private Partnership Programme in the Health sector. This culminated in the conclusion of the management contracts for the hospitals of Cascais, Braga, Vila Franca de Xira and Loures. In addition to advising on Commercial and Corporate Law issues, he has also advised several private entities on relevant projects in the Real Estate area. He graduated in Law from the Faculdade de Direito de Lisboa (1996), and has two post-graduate degrees: in Political Science (1997) and in Management and Taxation, both from the Instituto de Estudos Superiores Financeiros e Fiscais (1999). He has also attended post-graduate courses and other training in the area of Public Procurement. Between 2007 and 2008, Artur Filipe da Silva was head of office for the Secretary of State for Transport.

Jane Kirkby (pictured right) has been a partner at BAS for the last 10 years (2010 to 2020). Between 2007 and 2010, before joining BAS, she performed several public functions. She will incorporate Antas da Cunha Ecija & Associados as of counsel. She will provide legal advice in the areas of Public Procurement, Administrative Law and Health Law.
Throughout his professional career, he has been mainly dedicated to providing legal advice to public and private entities, namely in the areas of Public Procurement, Administrative Law, Health Law, Data Protection and Public-Private Partnerships.
She graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Universidade de Lisboa (2003) and has a post-graduate degree in Health Law from the School of Law of the Universidade Católica de Lisboa (2005). In 2007, she completed a Master’s degree in Medical Law and Ethics at London King’s College, with a thesis in Clinical Trials on Mental Illness. He has attended several training courses in Public Procurement and Data protection. He is a member of the Ethics Commission of the Portuguese Association of Data Protection and Security Professionals (APDPO – Portugal)

Diogo Moreira Ramos (pictured left) joins Antas da Cunha Ecija as an associate. He has been working at BAS, where he has worked for the last two years, integrated into the Commercial and Corporate Law department of the firm. He has a degree in Law from the Law School de the Universidade de Lisboa (2012). He has three post-graduate degrees: in Bioethics (2015) and Data Protection and Companies (2018/2019) from the Centro de Investigação de Direito Privado (CIDP) of the Law School of the Universidade de Lisboa, and in Intellectual Law from the Associação Portuguesa de Direito Intelectual (APDI) of the same university (2019/2020). He also holds a Master’s degree in Legal-Forensic Sciences from the same institution (2018).
