Andersen hires Ignacio Ruiz as tax partner
Andersen has incorporated Ignacio Ruiz Carrasco as a new partner in its tax department. Ruiz joins together with a team made up of Andrea Gonzalo Rodríguez, senior associate, and Miguel Ponce Vicente, consultant, all from AGM Abogados.
Ruiz holds a law degree from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) and has complemented his training with a Master’s in Stock Markets and Financial Markets from IEB, a Master’s in Tax Advisory for Companies (LLM) and an Executive Course in International Taxation from IE. Throughout his career, in addition to taking part in tax due diligence processes and taxpayer defense proceedings before the Spanish Tax Agency, he has advised business groups, companies and family offices. He also brings experience coordinating multinational teams on complex tax advisory projects.
Firm commentary
Commenting on the hire, José Vicente Morote, managing partner of Andersen Iberia, said the incorporation of Ignacio “responds to the firm’s strategy of continuing to develop areas of specialization within an already established tax practice”, noting that in corporate transactions of growing complexity and international scope, integrating tax analysis from the outset is essential to anticipate risks, provide legal certainty and facilitate decision-making.
Pablo Gómez-Acebo and Borja de Gabriel, partners and co-heads of the Tax department, said “Ruiz’s experience in M&A processes and in coordinating multinational teams will allow the firm to deepen its analysis of tax risks and contingencies and support clients throughout all phases of a transaction, from the initial review to its structuring and execution”.
