Getir is now operating in 46 cities in Turkey and has launched operations in the UK in January, the Netherlands in May, Germany and France in June, Spain in September and Italy in October 2021. Getir is, first and foremost, a technology company, founded in 2015 by Nazim Salur (founder of BiTaksi, Turkey’s leading taxi app), Serkan Borancili (founder of GittiGidiyor.com, an e-shopping marketplace) and Tuncay Tutek (former Procter & Gamble and PepsiCo executive in Europe & the Middle East).

Getir’s expansion strategy in Portugal required advice on a variety of matters and operated with ambitious deadlines. Abreu Advogados closely coordinated with Getir’s internal management and advisory teams. Abreu’s advice covered, among others, regulatory and licensing, data protection, e-commerce, real estate and property advice, as well as support in the interaction with the Portuguese Authorities.

Abreu Advogados’ team was composed of 15 lawyers which were led by partners (pictured from left to right) Manuel Santos Vitor (Corporate), Tiago Mendonça de Castro (Real Estate), Ricardo Henriques (Technology Law) and Rodrigo Formigal (Banking & Finance).
