Cuatrecasas and Garrigues advise on Generali’s investment in Grupo Cajamar

Cuatrecasas and Garrigues have advised on Generali’s acquisition of a 9.9% stake in Banco de Crédito Social Cooperativo (BCC), the parent company of Grupo Cajamar, in a transaction valued at approximately €150 million.

The transaction, which is expected to close in the second half of 2027, will give Generali a seat on BCC’s board once completed. Grupo Cajamar entities will continue to hold more than 78% of BCC’s share capital.

The teams

Cuatrecasas advised Banco de Crédito Social Cooperativo on the transaction, with its advisory team comprising partners Fernando Minguez, Carlota Tojo and Julián Ruan. Alantra acted as financial adviser to BCC-Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar.

Garrigues advised Generali, with Deloitte acting as financial adviser. The Garrigues team comprised partners María Fernández-Picazo Rodríguez, Juan Gonzalez Ortega and Luis de la Peña Fernandez-Nespral, principal associate Francesc Cholvi Roig, and associates Iñaki Abella Larraz, David Harto López and Víctor García Paramés.
