Andersen names Pablo Gómez-Acebo tax co-head for Iberia

Andersen Iberia has appointed partner Pablo Gómez-Acebo as co-head of its tax practice in Spain and Portugal. He will share the role with partner Borja de Gabriel, jointly overseeing a team of 108 professionals — 24 of whom are partners — across the Iberian Peninsula.

Pablo Gómez-Acebo joined Andersen in 2023 and specialises in tax advisory and planning for domestic and cross-border transactions across multiple sectors, including banking institutions. In his new role, he will focus on advancing an integrated working model and strengthening the firm’s capacity to support clients in an increasingly complex and global tax environment.

The appointment follows a broader internal leadership consolidation strategy at Andersen Iberia. In February, the firm named Federico Belausteguigoitia co-head of M&A alongside Ivo Portabales.

Practice performance and firm context

The tax practice generated revenues of more than €19 million in 2025 for Andersen, representing a 26.6% increase year-on-year. Andersen Iberia’s managing partner, José Vicente Morote, described tax as “one of our key areas and a fundamental pillar in advising our clients.”
