Ashurst confirm new Tax partner for Madrid office
Ricardo García-Borregón is the new tax partner at Ashurst’s Madrid office
The international law firm Ashurst has appointed Ricardo García-Borregón (pictured) as a partner for its Spanish tax practice.
This year the firm celebrates its 200th anniversary and has announced a record appointment of 25 new partners, 79% more than during 2021. Almost half (48%) are women and come from 13 practice areas and six different offices.
Ricardo García-Borregón, who will be promoted on 1st May 2022, joined Ashurst as a trainee in 2008 and was until now a senior associate in the tax department. The lawyer has extensive experience in the tax planning of investments in Spain for domestic and foreign clients, advising them on all aspects of direct and indirect taxation.
In addition, he has wide knowledge advising on the prevention and resolution of tax disputes, representing clients before the tax authorities in the course of tax inspections, as well as before the Spanish courts and EU institutions.
With this new appointment, the Ashurst Madrid office, which currently has more than 75 lawyers, will now have 14 partners.
